Local Interest and Things to Do

Every day, less than a mile away, at the Harrington public boat launch, you can buy fresh lobster and experience classic Maine dining in the privacy and beauty of your own personal paradise. At low tide, you can dig clams right in front of the cottage (with an inexpensive license, purchased at the town office.) Rent a kayak or canoe; we will provide information about where and how.

Activities nearby include golf, mountain biking, fishing, boating, shopping, kayaking, wildlife viewing, antiquing, sightseeing, biking, hiking, movie theater, puffin tours, local artists shopping, restaurants, and more.

Some of the nearby towns that offer things to see and do are: Milbridge, Jonesport, Machias Lubuc, Addison, Columbia Falls, Eastport, Cutler.

Day trips might include Campobello to the north and Bar Harbor (Acadia National Park) to the south. Be sure to take in the national park's beauty on the Schoodic Peninsula as well. The area is a paradise for naturalists and heaven for photographers and artists.
